Is SmartBuuks really free?
Yes. Invoices, estimates, customers, real double-entry books and reports are free, with no time limit and no card needed. We earn money from optional extras: the Pro plan, the Payroll add-on and small, clearly shown fees when customers pay you online.
Do I need to know accounting?
No. SmartBuuks uses everyday words like “Money customers owe you” and “Profit”. The accounting term is always one tap away, and your accountant can switch on a detailed view with debits and credits.
Can SmartBuuks move my money?
No. When you connect MoMo or a bank, we can only read your transactions and balance. Nothing is paid, sent or filed without you approving it first - and that includes the Copilot.
Will the tax office see my data?
Not unless you share it. Your books belong to you. We never share your data with the tax office or anyone else without your permission, except where the law requires it.
Which MoMo wallets and banks work?
You can connect MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AirtelTigo Money where the provider allows it, and upload a statement (CSV, PDF or Excel) from any bank or wallet. Statement uploads are free and unlimited on every plan.
Can my accountant use it?
Yes. Invite your accountant for free on any plan. Accountants and bookkeepers get a free Partner plan to see all their clients in one place.
Do you file my taxes?
Not yet. We work out the figures and prepare your filing packs (VAT, PAYE, SSNIT), and remind you before deadlines. You or your accountant then file with the GRA.
What if I want to leave?
You can export everything - invoices, transactions, reports and your full books - at any time, on every plan. Your data is never locked in.
Does it work on my phone and slow internet?
